opteka telephoto lens, I used this lens quite a bit 'before I purchased a Canon 400 mm prime objective. Although the goal Optek is a bit 'soft and has some chromatic abberation, the images are quite good if the subject has a good contrast.opteka telephoto lens, I used this lens with a 1.4x multiplier paintings as well. The resolving power at 1,200 mm is about 85-90% that of the Canon 400 mm used with a 3X telephoto extender (giving the same 1200mm). I used a diagram similar to the graph ISO12233 test to check the power of resolution. When the Canon shines is that it has almost no variation in color or shadows on the edges of images. Small black areas will go deep into the blue areas and small bright (like a white heron on a dark background) will have an advantage litttle blue on one side and orange border, the other with Optek, but this is normally not visible unless the 'image is blown up. Normal subjects usually does not show the chromatic abberation, except for the edges of an image when blown up.

I did and put a Vernier scale on my goal and got pretty good by splitting the fire slightly out of focus near and far focus distances. I also made some stops for this purpose board that work well. It is not practical to go much further than the F22 because of diffraction. A teleconverter will give you high-quality 1.4 X 1,800 mm at f22 with the exhibition of pictures, but the attention is critical and difficult. If you learn to focus the 650 mm-goal becomes much more difficult past, then you can get some pretty good pictures.
